A Norwich Castle Wedding by Norfolk Wedding photography Faye Amare Photography

Last weeks wedding was at the Notable Norwich Castle, Built by the Normans over 900 years ago it now hosts the new wedding reception, and I have to say the room is far superior to the old Churchmans House venue.

C + M’s ceremony was full of love, laughs and tears, with the occasional silly face thrown in. They both wrote their own vows, which brought the bride and half the room to tears. A coating of vaseline was required to place M’s ring on her finger causing the bride and guests to break out into a fit of laughter, a truly emotional moment captured.

After the ceremony we headed back to M’s parents barn in Felmingham, a beautiful setting for their wedding reception. It began with drinks on the lawn, with a surprise present for the Groom, a verity of owls captured the hearts and attention of everyone and were soon the talk of the wedding, other than how beautiful the Bride looked in her one of a kind Vintage slip dress of course!

People then quickly scampered into the marque out of the light rain. It quickly dried up and people were soon back outside enjoying the ambiance of live music played by an acoustic band. A magician circulated the crowds, preforming card tricks that stunned all the guests. After the entertainment, guests sat down to drinks and tucked in to a fish starter and buffet main.

The speeches soon proceeded with hilarious effect, which certainly revealed where C + M got her fabulous sense of humor from. A truly vibrant and comical part of the day with talk of Harry Potter references and then MOB, FOB, SOB, BOB, DOB and little COB which were certainly highlights of the speech, and it is very fitting to say you had to be there to truly understand the meaning behind them!

The night ended with the FOB (Father of the Bride) and his BAND! Yes BAND!!!! Performing rock classics like ‘Oh Sweet Child of Mine’ and ‘Your Sex is on Fire’ what an awesome FOB! Great work guys, as you had the entire wedding on their feet dancing along to the beat.

My night ended with a quick twilight couples shoot between the fairylight laced trees and boy did it make for an impressive and super cute shot!

A huge congratulations to C + M, your day was so beautiful and full of laughter. I wish you both all the best for the future.

Norfolk Engagement Shoot by Faye Amare Photography

Norfolk Engagement shoot with Norfolk Wedding Photographer Faye Amare Photography

R + S are one of my engagement session winners from the Norfolk Brides Great Yarmouth Town Hall wedding show and I am so glad they were as they are so much fun.

Soon as they found out they won they contacted me will a crazy but pretty cool idea, which is certainly not like anything I have done before on my engagement sessions, but my knowledge of commercial photography really came into play with the super creative couple. They wanted to use their VW beetle is a beat up location with vintage signs and accessories.

We met at the location near Riverside in Norwich and they turned up with a van full of props and chugging along a few minutes later was the beetle and soon I saw, it I knew it was going to make the shoot for this slightly alternative and uber cool couple.

The shoot felt like it when went within a flash! They were so much fun to work with and the shoot regularly broke out into hysterical laughter. So glad I got to photograph R + S and I wish them both well for their wedding.

Weeks were spent organizing this engagement shoot with L + K they knew exactly what they wanted, a very relaxed romantic shoot bathed in golden light. This shoot relied solely on the weather, so we held off booking anything in until we were sure that we would get the light they so hoped for, and that is exactly what they got!

Not long engaged the couple wanted images to express how much in love they are. And I’m sure you will agree they both look very much in love.

They chose the East Anglia Broad as the location for their shoot, close to the UEA in Norwich. After meeting them at the location on a very chilly January afternoon, we walked along the broad to find the perfect spot, and there was certainly many of great choices. We all agreed the reeds and walks were the perfect backdrop for a romantic scene.

Moral of the story sometimes waiting is worth it, as the hazy light certainly made their engagement session a magical one.

K + T booked their engagement session for January, high school sweethearts these two have been together since they were 13! K proposed and I hear it was very romantic. Congratulations to you both.

We drove out to Sandringham Forest, on the way we didn’t hold much hope for the weather but it turned out perfectly! We arrived at the forest and were immediately greeted by gorgeous gold hazy light that rippled through the trees, and I knew we would be getting the most amazing golden hour.

We began shooting, the couple a little nervous at first but soon felt at ease in front of the camera as they laughed and joked at one another. They also brought a sense of calm and romance to the images and it is clear to see how in love they are.

During the shoot we stopped to warm up at the little café close by, which was the perfect opportunity to wait for the golden hour to truly reveal its magic! And boy did it! We ran out to quickly get ready for what was about to happen and I am so glad we waited, as the results just speak for themselves.

You both were naturals in front of the camera, and it was a pleasure to photograph you both. And I cant wait to hear more about your wedding plans.

A Churchmans House Wedding by Norfolk Wedding photography Faye Amare Photography

A overcast November morning I arrived to photograph D+D on their wedding day. The house was hive of bridal activity, with their little one sitting patiently and watching cartoons on the telly. D was sat in the kitchen having her make up done chatting away with family and friends, anticipating what the big day will bring. The house although busy had a calm and peaceful atmosphere about it, with preparations happening at a leisurely pace. Once dressed D walked down stairs to greet her father and other friends and family and tears were in everybody’s eyes as she made her first appearance.

The weather on the day was normal for a November day a little damp and overcast, not the best for a wedding but that didn’t stop them ploughing through with their wedding day plans. I arrived at Churchman’s Registry office in Norwich to greet and capture a quaint number of guests, this wedding after all was a very close affair with only their nearest and dearest. The groom nervously waiting for his bride to arrive, and their son sitting once again patiently waiting for the day’s events to commence.

The arrival of the bride happened quickly as the heavens opened and we were quickly ushered inside out of the rain. I took my place at the front of the aisle awaiting the bride and her father to enter, the guests stood as they made their entrance and the grooms face awoken with joy as his bride walked towards him. It was clearly a happy but nervous moment for both as they locked eyes. The ceremony began with a greeting from the registrar who welcomed the guests to sit. Once seated the nuptials commenced and swiftly passed with their son as ring bearer and a guest reading a meaningful poem. After the I do’s they were quickly pronounce husband and wife, exiting through the white glass doors to pose for their couples photos. After the guests were gathered and placed for group shots and then ushered to the front of Churchman’s House to throw the confetti, which was a delightful moment for all as the bride and groom laughed as they were covered from head to toe in sugar paper hearts, bells and horseshoes.

I proceeded to make my way to their reception at The Georgian Townhouse in Norwich, where they were congratulated by family and friends. The room once calm on my arrival broke out in laugher and chatter with the room livening in moments as the wedding party began. Time passed swiftly and everyone was seated for the three course wedding breakfast. The Groom gave a heartfelt speech and thanked everyone for joining them and noted how beautiful his newly announced wife looked, she blushed with laugher as they looked lovingly at one another. The day ended with the first dance as newly-weds, under the ambient lit room they kissed and slowly fell into one another’s arms.

Congratulations to you both it was a beautifully quaint day. I wish you all the best for the future and may it bring many happy memories together.
