Dunston Hall Wedding Show 2018

Did you miss the 2018 Dunston Hall Wedding Show? Or maybe you just need to recap what awesome suppliers were exhibiting this year! Well… don’t worry because I’ve got you covered! Here is my rundown of the 2018 Dunston Hall Wedding Show. Who and what is HOT, Trends to watch out for and a look at the stunning Dunston hall.

Dunston Hall Wedding Show 2018

It was another jam-packed show with over 60 Exhibitors! The bride and grooms certainly had lots of incredible Norfolk wedding suppliers to choose from. From photo booths to florists this show had it all! I especially loved seeing what was on trend for this year's wedding season, and here to talk all about what is HOT is Megan from Bridget’s florist.

Dunston Hall Wedding Show 2018

2018 Wedding Trend Talk

So Megan, what is the low down on 2018 wedding trends?

This year our brides and grooms are in love with anything and everything a little unusual. We are talking clouds of foliages, feature displays such as walls of impressive floral creativity including twigs, greens and filler flowers behind the ceremony service.

Other ideas including different shaped bouquet than the bog standard traditional kind… we are now all about a little bit of nature, loose, and wild. Let your love flow and all that. Add a bit of texture, maybe a little pampas grass! This is a large contender for this year so keep your eyes open!

Why have a standard wooden chair when you can have something see-through! The clear, plastic chairs seem mega cool add a boho style rug, some candles and a few planters/lanterns and you are there! Nothing is to out there or dramatic so make sure your wedding shouts your personality and not just what Pinterest says is the right thing to do. Enjoy being creative you only get to do it once!

Flower trends

We are talking lots of different variations of greenery, lots of lovely textures such as grasses and not forgetting those grand displays. This could be anything from a feature wall or archway to table runners of floral garlands or even trailing greenery up along door frames or clouds above your top table! Try us… we are up for any challenge you fancy throwing our way! Tropical blooms are also becoming a key contender alongside my personal favourite… pampas grass!

Dunston Hall Wedding Show 2018

I bumped into lots of familiar faces from previous Norfolk wedding shows I have exhibited at and some that I had the pleasure of working with last wedding season. It was lovely to have a little catch-up and to check out who I’ll be working with; in the upcoming 2018 wedding season. I’m so excited for this wedding season as I will be photographing some of the UK’s top and most unique wedding venues, and Dunston Hall is just one of them. My work will also see me head to Jamaica and Disneyland Paris!!! I can certainly say this is going to be one hell of a year for my wedding photography, and I cannot wait for it to get started… well technically! It has already begun as I was at Southwood Hall on New Year’s Day for C + L’s winter wedding and what a beaut it was.

Norfolk Wedding Photographer Faye Amare - Best of 2017

Norfolk Wedding Photographer Faye Amare - The Best of 2017

Reviewing my best wedding photography moments of 2017, by Norfolk Photographer Faye Amare.

One thing is for sure, it has been a hell of a year to remember! with weddings all over the UK I have covered a crazy 11000 miles! capturing 26 magical weddings, oodles of pre-wedding shoots, 24 family shoots and even 5 proposals! All of which have said YES! Most of my time has been spent tending to my own clients, with the odd second shooting opportunity with other UK wedding photographers. So, in tribute of such a successful year I have chosen my top 50 photos (in no particular order) to round up this year’s wonderful weddings.

The year kicked off with a wedding at the incredible Eden Project, quite possibly my favourite venue EVER! The most attentive staff and the venue itself is breathtaking beyond belief. My year ended at a beautiful Suffolk Barn, where C+M got married in a wildflower meadow with their alpacas for ring bearers. I have visited a vast array of venues this year; all unique in their own way and from every corner of the UK. I have worked alongside some of the UK’s best wedding suppliers and seen some of the most beautiful DIY wedding décor I am ever likely to see, big shout out to Jessica Stone who made HUNDREDS of meters of bunting for their big day! The cutest moment for me was on Simon and Lisa’s big day, their paige boy and flower girl stole the show as they greeted the bride and proceeded to the top of the aisle for a cheeky kiss, my heart completely melted! The most hilarious moments have to go to Richard and Emma for their bull riding shenanigans; quite possibly the most fun I have ever had on a wedding day, you had me in stitches editing your photos. And big kudos to my Nikon D500 for having so many shots per second as them precious moments would have definitely been missed otherwise.

A few of this year’s wedding venues:

The Eden Project, HMS Belfast, Elms Barn, Chaucer Barn, Hever Castle, The keeper and the Dell, Lenwade House, The Boathouse, Norwich Castle, Wood Farm Barn, Pentney Abbey, Glebe Farm Barn, Voewood and De Vere Horwood. I have also seen a rise in the trend of having home weddings

I am so thankful for having such awesome clients, who have been incredible all the way through. It truly has been an honour to capture the start of each and every life journey, and to see my couples grow into families has been a blessing. The support they have all shown me and my business has been immense and I cannot thank them enough, it means the world to me that my clients trust me to not only attend their wedding day and capture every precious moment but deliver them.

This year I have seen an astounding amount of love, laughter and a few tearful moments. All of which have been captured with the passion I have for my profession as a photographer. I have met a real mixture of people from all walks of life, some of which I am lucky enough to call friends. I have had the pleasure of eating some of the tastiest food I have ever eaten, captured some truly hilarious moments and seen some of the funkiest drunken dance moves I think I will ever see! Some were legendary, whilst some were pretty questionable to say the least!

I have learnt a lot this year, and feel I have grown immensely as a photographer and business women. I can safely say I am even more in love with the job I do, and I cannot wait to do it all again. I capture love stories, and delivering my client’s priceless memories is best feeling ever!

Unfortunately, not all my weddings will make the blog this year as quite a few of my couples have chosen to have a disclosure agreement, which means I cannot share their amazing photos with you all. But I will share below a couple of my favorite moments from a select few big days.

Top highlights I am unable to share.

The Eden Project Wedding

- Their starlit first dance surrounded by their friends ans family.

- The couple’s photos at blue hour (this one has melted my heart and I’m gutted I can’t share how much we smashed this shot)

Hever Castle Wedding

- Mother of the bride helping the bride into her dress.

- The groom's face when he saw his bride.

HMS Belfast Wedding

- The groom’s ex-navy granddad helping his grandson with his navy attire.

- A very tearful ceremony.

- Walking through the Arch of Swords.

Rose Farm, Derbyshire Wedding

- Their outdoor wedding ceremony.

- Couple's photos with their little ones.

Willow Barn, Suffolk Wedding

- Their very bohemian confetti moment whilst throwing up the peace sign.

- Capturing their couple’s photos with their alpacas! In a wildflower meadow!

To name just a few…

Another wedding season is now just around the corner and 2018 is looking just as amazing, I cannot wait to capture all the madness again. I will be kicking off 2018 with a wedding at Southwood Hall on New Years Day! The 2019 books are open and have been filling up, I still have some available 2018 and 2019 dates so get in touch if you are looking for your wedding photographer.

A final thank you to all my clients; past, present and future the thank yous and kind words mean the world to me and your reviews have helped me grow my business to what it is today, I am so excited for what the 2018 wedding season will bring and I cannot wait to meet lots more amazing bride and grooms to be.

Lastly, a special mention goes out to my couples whom lost a special someone this year, I can only hope capturing your loved ones at your big day has put smiles on your faces as you revisit your memories. I wish you all the best for the future.

Anyway enough rabbiting on!

Take a look at my top 50 wedding photographs from the 2017 wedding season.

A Most Curious Wedding Fair photographed by Faye Amare Wedding Photography

The 2017 Most Curious Wedding Fair, Norwich. photographed by Norfolk Wedding Photographer Faye Amare.

WOW! Where do I start, quite honestly… hands down the best wedding fair I have ever been a part of! With oodles of talented Norfolk wedding suppliers and so much on trend wedding inspo my creative mind was on fire throughout the whole show! TMC team certainly pulled it out the bag again with this year’s theme ‘Pinktopia and Electric Dreams’ delivering another incredible show.

It was awesome to be asked to photograph the big event by Penny, Head of Norwich’s Most Curious Wedding Fair, mumtrepreneur AND founder of The Little Lending Company. (Some real girl power going on right there!) As soon as Penny asked me to photograph the show I knew it was an opportunity not to be missed!

I had briefly attended the 2016 TMCW show to photograph the joint stand of The Little Lending Company and Swaffham Florists and also captured a few for Dust with Cocoa and Wonderful Wonky Weddings. However as I had an engagement shoot that evening I couldn’t hang around for too long, but from what I saw, I was extremely impressed with every supplier pulling out all the stops for last year’s ‘Wood and Bush’  theme the hall looked incredible.

Upon arriving at the hall that morning it was buzzing with energy with suppliers running around getting every detail just right for the soon arriving bride and grooms. Soon the time came to open the doors and excitement and anticipation soon filled the room. There is so much local supplier love at this show, with every supplier handpicked by TMC team. Exhibiting only the best wedding suppliers Norfolk has to offer. This year’s show saw every supplier join forces on the ‘Pinktopia and Electric Dreams’ theme, which certainly created an impact as you entered the hall. I was amazed how creative and elaborate each supplier had dressed their stand, each one interpreting the pink brief in a slightly different and unique way. From tropical vibes to subtle hints of the popular blush tone, no matter where you looked the pretty pink hues electrified The Hall.

The show was even busier than I remember it last year with entire rows filled with intrigued bride and grooms to be. I had so much fun meeting lots of new suppliers, catching up with old friends and also bumping into a couple of my bride and grooms to be, so excited for your big days guys and it’s great to hear how well you wedding planning is going.

Show highlights included Pimp my stand winners Funnells Kitchen, The Catwalk shows, on trend wedding must haves and lots and lots of PINK! The show was an awesome success, Penny’s and the Most Curious teams hard work has certainly paid off! Well done girls, you rock!

And what better time to share this awesome exclusive offer I have. Did you book The Little Lending Company, Swaffham and Fakenham Florist or Dust with Cocoa? Then check out this link as I have a little something just for you! And it may just save you some dollar! ;) 10% in fact!

My Top 10 Most Curious Wedding Fair Stands (In no particular order!)

Funnells Kitchen

A huge congrats to Funnells Kitchen for winning the Pimp My Stand comp, all your hard work certainly has paid off as they stand looked good enough to eat! Last year I had the pleasure to work with Funnells Kitchen at C+E’s wedding and I have to say hands down the best wedding food I have EVER tasted! (And I have eaten a lot of wedding breakfasts!!!) So if you are still looking for your wedding caterer check these guys out as the food was extremely scrummy.

The Little Lending Company & Swaffham and Fakenham Florist

LLC debuted the gorgeous geo wood collection clad with wild foliage and beautiful blush n white florals. The uber trendy collab oozed class with a modern rustic twist. Well done girls it was a stunner!

Dust with Cocoa

When I think of cake first thing that comes to my mind is Dust of Cocoa! I’ve tried my fair share of wedding cake and I have to say dwc’s are the scrummiest cakes. Debbie also debuted the fancy sprinkle line and her new hire The Dessert Bar, I predict all your wedding guests lining up to grab one of these awesome desserts.

Lou Lou Loves

The tropical vibes of Lou Lou Love’s stand were to die for! I was immediately taken to a tropical paradise, I could just picture pulling up a deck chair and pouring myself a Pina Colada with one of those cute little umbrellas! Girl can dream!

Megan Duffield Photography

Probably the cutest little stand at #AMCWF, loved all the extra details Megan put into decorating her stand. And how beautiful is her photography!

Fetti and bow

WOW did these guys make an impact on The Halls, the catwalk looked especially awesome with the cascading pink toned balloons. And I very much look forward to photographing their real petal confetti at one of my client’s weddings!

EE Jewellery

I am a big fan of precious gem stones and when I saw these my heart literally skipped a beat! I love their modern organic mix of jewellery, super stylish and will complete any bridal or bridesmaid outfit.

Wonderful wonky weddings

I can imagen every wedding guest being super excited and a little curious! for your big day after receiving one of www’s invitations. I love how these invites give you a little hint at what kind of big day you are planning.  Looking for a stylish and personal touch, these are a must!

The fire pit camp

If any stand left me completely curious it has to be this one, the fire pit camp offers an outdoors venue for your big day that you can transform to fit your style. You have to check these guys out! Seriously cannot wait to book a wedding at this venue.

// Norfolk Engagement session with T + R

18 September 16

Posted at 2:19

What better location for a natural and relaxed engagement session than Thetford Forest. I headed out to High Lodge with T + R, it was a warm overcast day and at times looked like it may just rain, but we risked the weather and went ahead with the shoot.

Although nervous at the start, in their words “we’re a little camera shy” which is very common, many couples feel nervous when they first have their photos taken. But the beauty of how I work is that I try to give the couple as much distance as they need, so that they don’t feel pressured in any way. They soon felt comfortable and were laughing and smiling away and we captured so great shots.

And here are the highlights.

// Engagement session with R + G

31 August 16

Posted at 2:14

R + G choose to have a romantic and fun golden hour e-session on Great Yarmouth Beach in front of the ferris wheel. And it made for the perfect backdrop for their super sweet shoot.

We were certainly blessed with the most amazing golden hour I have ever seen in Great Yarmouth! Who knew we could make GY look like Miami!!! All we were short of is a few palm trees and the crystal clear waters.

These two were so much fun to photograph and I have to say in my Job I meet lots of couples, but the couple that stands out as deeply and madly in love are defiantly R + G and these shots certainly show just that! Here are my fave 5.

// Norfolk Engagement session with R + T

20 August 16

Posted at 2:13

R + T are another of The Norfolk Brides Great Yarmouth Wedding show runner up winners. And WOW I am so glad they won!

These two made it super easy to capture the beautiful moments. With their acting background they defiantly knew how to work with the camera and the shots certainly show just that!

They choose Jesus Green in Cambridge for their engagement session and it was the PERFECT location for their bike riding / floral fun shoot. We had such a great time and they certainly made it very difficult to choose the best shots, as there were so many!

And here are my faves

// Engagement session with J + L

10 August 16

Posted at 11:50

I spent a gorgeous sunny morning with J + L in Cromer, Norfolk for their engagement session. They braved the slightly chilled sea breeze to capture some super cute summer momentos.

And boy did this gorgeous couple make it easy to snap the perfect moments, and here are the highlights.

// Engagement session with R + K

02 August 16

Posted at 12:39

So R + K are the very lucky and deserving winners of my Norfolk Brides Great Yarmouth Wedding Show competition and I cannot wait for their big day at Lenwade House in 2017.

They decided on Wells next to the Sea as the location for their e-session and although it was a cloudy day, it made for some dramatic stormy skies. Which certainly made the shoot!

Wondering around this beautiful beach we were spoilt for choice, as there are so many areas to explore and discover. And here are the highlights from our day.

24 July 16

Posted at 1:06

Yesterday’s wedding was certainly a beautiful one, with plenty of unique moments that truly captured the couple’s quirky personalities. C + E celebrated their big day at E’s parents gorgeous Victorian manor house in the depths of the Norfolk countryside. With the sunniest of days and blue skies galore, it’s hard not to describe their day as a perfect one.

C + E planned an outdoor ceremony in the gardens of the manor house, known as the Hornbeam Circle. Where they were to be blessed by a high priestess and joined together through the ritual of hand tying. A memorable part for everyone was as bubbles drifted past them, they proclaimed their vows to one another. Sweetest moment ever!

The celebrations continued onto the lawn with champagne, canapés and great conversation. With some playing garden games and others admiring the hard work that had gone into making the yurt so spectacularly beautiful. Flowers grown from C’s parents own garden embellished the columns and tables. It was easy to see the décor they had chosen was full of sentiment.

The evening continued with a great speech from E’s father, who revealed all about her rebellious side as youngster, which certainly was the caused of the up roar of laughter and applause. Two more speech’s followed from the groom and best man, both of which befitting to the last. An amazing array of vegan treats were on offer, and I must say this was by far one of the best wedding breakfasts I have seen and tasted! A little while after C + E cut the cutest brownie cake I have seen. And as soon as it had been cut, the guests devoured it, with only crumbs left in sight. My evening concluded with couples photos on the meadow of the manor.

From childhood friends to bride and groom, its clear to see these two were meant to be.

Highlights below

Funnells - Did an incredible job catering a vegan friendluy buffet! and it was delicious!

Macarons and More - Made the most delicious brownie cake I have ever!

23 June 16

Posted at 5:42

Last weeks wedding was at the Notable Norwich Castle, Built by the Normans over 900 years ago it now hosts the new wedding reception, and I have to say the room is far superior to the old Churchmans House venue.

C + M’s ceremony was full of love, laughs and tears, with the occasional silly face thrown in. They both wrote their own vows, which brought the bride and half the room to tears. A coating of vaseline was required to place M’s ring on her finger causing the bride and guests to break out into a fit of laughter, a truly emotional moment captured.

After the ceremony we headed back to M’s parents barn in Felmingham, a beautiful setting for their wedding reception. It began with drinks on the lawn, with a surprise present for the Groom, a verity of owls captured the hearts and attention of everyone and were soon the talk of the wedding, other than how beautiful the Bride looked in her one of a kind Vintage slip dress of course!

People then quickly scampered into the marque out of the light rain. It quickly dried up and people were soon back outside enjoying the ambiance of live music played by an acoustic band. A magician circulated the crowds, preforming card tricks that stunned all the guests. After the entertainment, guests sat down to drinks and tucked in to a fish starter and buffet main.

The speeches soon proceeded with hilarious effect, which certainly revealed where C + M got her fabulous sense of humor from. A truly vibrant and comical part of the day with talk of Harry Potter references and then MOB, FOB, SOB, BOB, DOB and little COB which were certainly highlights of the speech, and it is very fitting to say you had to be there to truly understand the meaning behind them!

The night ended with the FOB (Father of the Bride) and his BAND! Yes BAND!!!! Performing rock classics like ‘Oh Sweet Child of Mine’ and ‘Your Sex is on Fire’ what an awesome FOB! Great work guys, as you had the entire wedding on their feet dancing along to the beat.

My night ended with a quick twilight couples shoot between the fairylight laced trees and boy did it make for an impressive and super cute shot!

A huge congratulations to C + M, your day was so beautiful and full of laughter. I wish you both all the best for the future.

Here are my highlights from the day

Happisburgh Owls - A surpise gift for the groom. And i have to say I totally fell in love with their RARE dark barn own Dusk, so cute!

Mark Daynes Magician - Doing an awesome job stunning C + M's wedding guests with his magic card tricks!
